Belvedere Palace - Impressive Art Gallery

The
Belvedere Palace is a baroque palace complex situated in the south-east centre of Vienna city. The Palaces' architecture and interior design are typical for Rococo style.

The Belvedere Palace is Austria’s most famous art gallery and home to der Kuss (The Kiss) which was painted by Gustav Klimt.

The residence of the legendary field marshal Prince Eugene of Savoy consists in two palaces:

Oberes Belvedere (Upper Belvedere) where you can visit the Austrian gallery with a collection of 19th- and 20th-century Austrian paintings and works by Renoir, Monet, Klimt (world's largest Klimt collection), Kokoschka, Makart, Boeckl, Wotruba, Hausner, Hundertwasser and Schiele. Gothic art like the Znaim Altar, works by Michael Pacher, Rueland Frueauf the Elder and Conrad Laib are also in the Upper Belvedere.

Unteres Belvedere (Lower Belvedere) where you can visit the Austrian Art of the 18th century. The Hall of Grotesques, the Marble Gallery, and the Golden Room are in the Lower Belvedere.

The two magnificent Palaces on the Belvedere grounds lie in the middle of an amazing park. The Gardens link the palaces, with elegant pools, fountains, sculpture, steps and cascades.
